Williamsburg-Linda Gesina Margaret Lorenz was born November 7, 1906 in Iowa County near Homestead, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Anna Von Weihe Huedepohl. Linda was baptized on December 9, 1906 and confirmed on March 28, 1920 at St John's Lutheran Church. She attended school at St. John's Lutheran School near Homestead. Linda was united in marriage to Leroy E. Lorenz February 5, 1928 at St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a life long resident of Iowa County living on the farm until 1982, when they moved to Williamsburg and later in February 1999 became a resident of the Colonial Manor in Amana. Linda was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg and former charter member of the Immanuel Ladies Aide. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, working with flowers, playing cards and most of all spending time with her family. Linda died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at the Colonial Manor in Amana after a short illness at the age of 98 years, 8 months and 20 days. She is survived by three daughters: Laverna ( Henry) Von Ahsen of Conroy, Dolores (Albert ) Wille and Delaine (Donald) Wille all of Williamsburg; four sisters: Agnes (Clark) Soedt of Amana, Norma McCoy, Flora Teggatz and Leona Wille all of Williamsburg; a brother: Clarence (Ramona) Huedepohl of Millersburg; a sister-in-law: Leona Huedepohl of Amana; a brother-in-law: Harold Wade of North English and 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and a step great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Melva Wade, Dora Lorenz, Freida Jones; three brothers: Alfred, Elmer and Walter Huedepohl and a granddaughter: Lynette Wille. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Pastor Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8p.m. Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
