Linda J. Maddy, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away on Friday, April 01, 2016, at her home.Per Linda's wishes, cremation has been accorded. Friends are welcome to sign the register book on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m., at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel of Mt. Pleasant. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 8, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall in Ottumwa, IA, with Elder Cary Weichman officiating. A private, family burial will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery, in Washington, IA. Memorials may be donated to Jehovah's Witness through www.jw.org. On-line condolences may be left at www.olsonpowell.com.Born August 31, 1946, in Washington, IA, Linda Jean was the daughter of Eugene and Kathel Crawford White. She was a graduate of Washington High School. Linda married Harry John Miller, who preceded her in death on March 21, 1971.A resident of Mt. Pleasant for over 40 years, Linda was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and loved teaching the Bible to others. She was a homemaker and awesome mother. She enjoyed shopping and a cup of coffee with friends. Her big heart was evident in the many acts of kindness she did for others. Linda loved her dog, Nilla, and especially treasured the time the two of them spent walking together.Linda is survived by two daughters, Deana (Mark) De Jong of Oskaloosa, IA and Jennifer (Bradley) Fish of Ft. Madison, IA; a son, Luke (Danita) Maddy of Fairfield, IA; and six grandchildren, Alexander, Abigail, Nicholas, and Elizabeth De Jong and Nevada and Linkin Fish. She is also survived by two brothers, Rick White of CA and Ron (Liz) White of IL and two sisters, Sherry (Gene) Lloyd of AZ and Tammy (Skip) Wagner of IL.Along with her first husband, Harry, Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
