Linda D. Grimes

Linda Deanne Grimes, age 75, formerly of Agency, Iowa passed away, Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Compass Memorial Hospital, Marengo, Iowa. Per Linda’s wishes there will be no services. The family suggests memorials to be made to Compass Memorial Healthcare Hospice Room in memory of Linda. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with final arrangements.

Linda is survived by her daughter Lisa Grimes of Marengo; four grandchildren, Sam Ferguson of Ottumwa, Bart (Kristen) Hansen of Marengo, Shelby Rochelle Lynn Grimes of Waterloo, and Michael “Mick” Ryan of Marengo; and two great-grandchildren, Asher and Zoey. Also surviving are her sister Sally Marie Carr of Cleveland, MO; and a brother Larry Miksch of Loveland, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Rochelle Lynn Grimes Guffey, and a son Dewey Eugene Grimes.

Linda Deanne Miksch was born February 21, 1945 in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene Miksch and Margarite C. Rodenmayer. She spent her early years in Packwood and graduated in 1963 from Pekin-Packwood High School. Linda married Jim Davis in 1963 and the couple made their home in Arizona. The couple later divorced. While in Arizona she was employed with a company that made clothing, a profession that served her well. She became an expert seamstress, and was able to make clothes for her daughters, and knit and crochet over the years. She also learned to tool and dye leather into beautiful creations.

In 1968 Linda and James “Butch” Grimes were married in Chillicothe , IA, where the couple settled and raised their family. She was employed as a bus driver for the Eddyville-Blakesburg schools. Most recently Linda had been living in North English.
