Williamsburg-Lillie Emma (Glandorf) Doehrmann was born August 10, 1914 in Iowa County near Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Gesina Baack Glandorf. She was baptized on September 6, 1914 by Pastor Bonovsky at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Lillie attended Immanuel Lutheran School and was confirmed April 1, 1928 at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Pastor Uhlmann. Lillie was united in marriage to Arnold Martin John Doehrmann on January 24, 1935 at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Pastor Bostelmann. The couple lived and farmed on the family farm until the death of her husband Arnold on November 3, 1960. Lillie lived on the farm until 1964 when she then moved to Williamsburg. She worked at the Williamsburg High School as a cook for 19 years retiring in 1980. She also volunteered at the Lutheran Interparish School. As member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church she was active in the Women's Guild and Altar Guild. Lillie became a resident at Colonial Manor Assisted Living the July of 2003. Lillie died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a brief illness at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 10 days. She is survived by four children: Allan (Marcella) Doehrmann of Williamsburg; LaVerne (Bob) Brandt of Reedsville, WI; Don (JoAnne) Doehrmann of Williamsburg and Gerald (Teri) Doehrmann of Minier, IL; a daughter in law: Jan Doehrmann of Williamsburg; 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; a brother Arnold Glandorf of Homestead and a sister in law: Leona Doehrmann of Williamsburg. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gene Doehrmann September 15, 2002, a brother Ernest Glandorf, eight sisters: Frieda Brandt, Alina Glandorf, Norma Glandorf, Clara Johnson, Loretta Doehrmann, Irma Krueger, infant Alma Glandorf and Elsie Green. Celebration of life service will be Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Pastor Carl Cloeter will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2004 at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg from 3 to 7 P.M.
