CEDAR RAPIDS-Lillian M. Janechek, age 87, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2007, in her daughter and son-in-law's home near Keota. Lillian was born November 17, 1919, in Monmouth, Iowa, to Wince and Rose (Pour) Zak. She attended Clinton Business School and worked as a bookkeeper before her marriage to Linus J. Janechek on August 1, 1949. Survivors include a daughter: Mary (Patrick) Gent of Keota; a son: Charles (Deb) Janechek of Springville; six grandsons: Stephen (Melissa) Gent of Ames, Robert (Amber) Gent of Wellman, Michael, Matthew, Nathan and Nicholas Janechek, all of Springville; great granddaughter: Ashley Gent and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister: Helen Zak Dettwiler; infant son: James and granddaughter: Bridget Gent. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids with Rev. Nils Hernandez officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the church. A memorial fund has been established for Hospice of Keokuk County.
