Lillian “Laurene” Chapman

Lillian “Laurene” Chapman was born April 12, 1929, near Webster, Iowa, the daughter of Harlan and Lillian Hunzelman Fry. Laurene passed away on October 10, 2021, peacefully at her home, with her granddaughter Lynette Maxwell and her great granddaughter, Liberty Maxwell at her side. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Kloster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Laurene Fry married Lloyd Morrison and they had four children. The couple later divorced. On December 11, 1965, Laurene was united in marriage to Ralph Chapman, and they moved to Williamsburg in 1970. She worked at Oral B Labs for 17 years. She enjoyed camping, country line dancing, gardening, listening to old country music, and going to the Opera House.

Laurene is survived by her children Sharon (Tom) Hegewald, Williamsburg, Diana (Jon) Tory, Riverside, Richard (Darlene) Morrison, Ladora, and Darrell (Rhonda) Morrison, Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; four step-grandsons; ten great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandsons; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother Zerne (Betty) Fry. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a brother LaVerne Fry; a sister-in-law Margaret Fry; three other sisters-in-law; and a son-in-law Bill Nation.
