Leone Tim Hollingsworth, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at the Henry County Health Center. Friends may sign the register book and leave memorials on Thursday, June 26, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel. There will be no family visitation time. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 27, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Comfort officiating. Inurnment will be in Bowie, AZ. Memorials have been established to the First Baptist Church or to MO.K.I.D.S. (Missourians who care for injured and disabled students). On line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com Born March 19, 1916, in Des Moines County, IA, Leone Tim was the daughter of Arnold F. and Irma Rose Wells Timmerman. She attended schools in Mt. Pleasant, and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1933. On September 4, 1937, she married Everett Lawson Hollingsworth in Dubuque, IA. The couple moved to Davenport and lived there for four years, where Tim worked in an office. In 1941, the couple moved to Mt. Pleasant, and Tim worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. After the war ended, the Hollingsworths moved to Wyoming in 1945. For eight years, the couple operated motels in Casper and Wheatland, WY. In 1953, they moved to Stanfield, AZ, where they managed a motel for eleven years. They then moved to Bowie, AZ where they operated a motel for two years until Everett's death. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1966. For the next two years, Tim worked as a bookkeeper. In 1968, Tim moved back to Iowa, to assist her mother who was in poor health. She also went back to work at I.A.A.P. She later worked in mens' clothing stores in Fairfield and in Mt. Pleasant, and did bookkeeping for various businesses as well. She retired in 1996. While in Arizona, Tim worked as a youth counselor and adult Sunday School teacher in Southern Baptist Churches. In Mt. Pleasant, she was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1968. She was an active member, taught Sunday School and served on many committees and boards in the church. Tim was an avid golfer, bowler and loved to fish. She gave bowling and golf trophies that she had won, back to the children's bowing and golf associations for use in the children's leagues in those sports. She was a loyal Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan, and loved following the Iowa Hawkeyes Basket- ball Team. Survivors include her son, Jerry (Donna) Hollingsworth of St. Peters, MO; and three grandsons, John, Michael and Joseph Hollingsworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and by one brother.
