Leonard D Slagle

Wellman- Leonard Dean Slagle was born September 27, 1948 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Henry and Asnath Maudie (Brenneman) Slagle. He graduated from Iowa Mennonite High School. Leonard was a mechanic at Wade Ford, and drove a concrete truck for Ideal. He lived in Wellman his whole life. Leonard enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, the outdoors and playing cards. Leonard passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the University Of Iowa Hospital at the age of 73 years.

Leonard is survived by 3 siblings; Ivan (Betty) Slagle of Plumerville, AR, Kenneth (Linda) Slagle of Newman, GA, and Janet (Ralph) Speas of Waco, TX; 3 nieces and 3 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held 1:00 to 4:00pm Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date.
