Williamsburg-Leona Lucille Mullnix was born June 4, 1915 near Williamsburg in Pilot Township, the daughter of Gustav and Anna Koehn Knock. She was baptized on June 27, 1915 and confirmed in 1929 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She attended St. Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1933. Leona was united in marriage to Levi Mullnix on February 28, 1940 in Williamsburg. The couple lived in Cedar Rapids and Lisbon before retiring back to Williamsburg in 1994. Leona became a resident at the assisted living in Marengo in 2003. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Womens Guild and enjoyed quilting. Leona died Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo after a short illness at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 29 days.. Survivors: two daughters: Barbara Ringel of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas and Carole Wendorf of Ft. Worth, Texas; two grandchildren: Shelley (Curtis) Blalock of Ft Worth and Shawn (Marianne) Driscoll of San Marcos, Texas; two great grandchildren: Riley and Drake Nicole Driscoll. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1999, a son -Gary Allen Mullnix, a grandson- Brian Betzer and a sister- Earleen Bowler. Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Pastor Carl Cloeter will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 PM at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
