Williamsburg-Leona Kathryn Klever was born February 20, 1912 in Troy Township, Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Elise (Meier) Livingston. She attended South Ridge rural school and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1930. Leona was united in marriage to Alfred F. Klever on November 16, 1933 at the Ohio Church parsonage near Ladora, Iowa. Leona farmed with her husband on the farm. Leona was a member of the First Presbyterian Church were she was active in the Women Group, Bible class and circle meetings. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary ,VFW Auxiliary and she enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. Leona died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Marengo Memorial Hospital in Marengo after a brief illness at the age of 97 years. She is survived by a sister: Joyce Stangland of Williamsburg; two brothers: Eugene Livingston of Fall Brook, California and Dean Livingston of Mennefeir, California; half sister: Frances Munson; two half brothers: Tom Livingston of Coralville and Garth Livingston a step sister: Jean Doehrmann all of Williamsburg and a sister-in-law: Mildred Sperry of Lisbon. Also a number of neices and nephews. She is preceded by her parents; husband in 1983; a brother: Melvin Livingston; a sister: Iola Weekly; half brother: Bruce Freeman; a step sister: Dorothy Hugley; three sister-in-laws: Evelyn Livingston , Colleen Livingston and Mabel Jones and three brother- in-laws: Otis Stangland, Paul Sperry and Thomas Jones. Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 pm Monday, August 31, 2009 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Pastor Kip Murphy will officiate. Burial will be at Pilot Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are for the First Presbyterian Church or Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts.
