WILLIAMSBURG- Leona A. Huedepohl, was born on November 30, 1914, in York Township, Iowa, the daughter of Christian and Minnie (Falkenburg) Teggatz. She attended Immanuel Parochial School. On February 7, 1937, she was united in marriage to Walter T. Huedepohl, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, near Williamsburg. She lived on the family farm until moving into Williamsburg in May of 1995. She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. As a homemaker she enjoyed quilting, knitting, baking and gardening. Leona died on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg following an extended illness at the age of 94. She is survived by a son Dennis (Connie) Huedepohl of Williamsburg; a daughter: Dianne (Kurt) Metzner of Jackson, MS; 6 grandchildren: Jeff (Gretchen) Huedepohl of Jefferson City, MO, Scott (Andrea) Huedepohl of Williamsburg, Shelly (Bryce) Brecht of Marengo, Kristin (Andrew) Ward of Walford, Tom Metzner of Overland Park, KS, and David (Malia) Metzner of Atlanta GA; 10 great grandchildren: Ben, Seth and Hannah Huedepohl, Aaron and Jacob Huedepohl, Kelsey and Tanner Brecht, Nathan and Allison Ward and Ella Metzner; 3 sisters-in-law: Flora Teggatz of North English, Leona Wille and Norma McCoy of Williamsburg; a brother-in-law Clarence (Ramona) Huedepohl of Millersburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 3 brothers: Wayne, Merlin and Alvin Teggatz. Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, near Williamsburg. Rev. Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 3-7 PM at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
