Leila S. Bohn, 87 of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at the Henry County Health Center. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday, June 20, 2008, at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, with Pastor Duke Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Calvary Baptist Church. Born June 30, 1920, Leila Sarah was the daughter of Henry J. and Lenora Mae Boshart Yoder. She attended Stringtown School near Noble, IA. On April 18, 1945, Leila married Maurice Benjamin Grieser in Beemer, NE. He preceded her in death in July 1981. She then married Carl Bohn. The couple later divorced. Leila worked at the VA Hospital in Iowa City in the dietary department during the 60's and 70's. She also worked as a CNA at the Halcyon House in Washington, Iowa. The Griesers moved to Kansas where Leila worked in a nursing home in Hoxie. She sold Avon for two years and continued to do so after moving to Minnesota. In 1990, Leila moved to Mt. Pleasant where she has resided since. Leila was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and raised a large family. Leila enjoyed sewing, quilting, braiding rugs and producing large gardens. A gracious hostess, Leila loved to fix meals and often entertained guests in her home. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include one daughter, Janice (Marvin) Yaley of Mt. Pleasant, IA; four sons, Robert (Leah) Grieser of Ames, IA, Michael Grieser of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Melvin (Pat) Grieser of Battle Lake, MN, and Dwight (Rhonda) Grieser of Des Moines, IA; and one son-in-law Matt Schillig of Dresden, KS. Also surviving are two sisters, Maleta Barquist of Olds, IA and Zona Widmer of Cedar Rapids, IA; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, Leila was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Cynthia Schillig.
