Larry Klein

SIGOURNEY- Larry Klein, age 84, of Sigourney, died Sunday, October 25, 2020, at his home.
Larry was born February 18, 1936, in Lancaster, to Raymond and Lois (Gillam) Klein and graduated from Sigourney High School. On December 27, 1958 he married Marlene Striegel at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. A lifelong resident of the Sigourney community, Larry farmed until his retirement in 2002, however he still ran the combine until last week. He was a member of the Sigourney Christian Church, Sigourney Lions Club for 30 years and Keokuk County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed visiting with everyone, good food, good coffee and conversation.
Survivors include three children: Barbara (John) Henderson of Keota, Tom (Julie) Klein of Sigourney and Todd (Christa) Klein of Orange City; nine grandchildren: Wesley (Kelly) Henderson, Ethan (Hannah) Henderson, Savanna (Brandon) DeJong, Whitney and Logan and Taylor Klein, Ayden, Carson, Harper and Liam Klein; five great grandchildren: Keegan and Kolin Henderson, Sunni and Barrett DeJong and Emery Henderson; one sister: Marna (Paul) McLain of Colorado Springs. Colorado and two brothers: Donald (Allison) Klein of Clive and David (Micaela) Klein of Sigourney. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife: Marlene in 2015.

Private memorial service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney, with Rev. Dave Welch officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Public visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mask and glove usage will be required for the visitation and service.
