WELLMAN- Larry J. Schauf, was born on May 20, 1947, in Washington, Iowa, a son of Wilbur and Velda (Moffitt) Schauf. He was a 1967 graduate of Mid Prairie High School in Wellman. After graduation he entered in to the US Army serving in Vietnam. On April 5, 1969, he was united in marriage to Sandra Bishop at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman. He was a fabrication inspector for Amana Refrigeration for 42 years. He has lived in Wellman all of his life. He enjoyed restoring old cars. Larry died on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, after a short illness, at the age of 61 years. He is survived by his wife Sandra of Wellman, IA; 2 children- Tammie (Barry) Ibach of Las Vegas, NV and Shawn Schauf of Wellman, IA; 4 grandchildren- Courtney Schauf, Aiden Ibach, Mia Ibach and Mariah Schauf; his mother Velda Schauf of Wellman, IA; 7 brothers and sisters- Shirley Debler of Wellman, IA, Myrna (Ray) Bozarth of West Liberty, IA, Ed Schauf of Marietta SC, Dennis Schauf of West Liberty, IA Mary (Jerry) Van Dyke of Louisville, KY, Lori Schauf and Sandra Hahn both of West Liberty. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother William Schauf. Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Wellman. Rev. Frances Baumert will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 18, 2008, from 10:00 am until service time at the First Baptist Church in Wellman.
