Larry J. Burgy

Larry J. Burgy, age 80, of Marengo, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at his home. Services will be held at a later date. Kloster Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Larry is survived by his son, Matt Burgy; a brother Jeff Burgy; a niece Kirsten and a nephew Kyle. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dave.

Larry John Burgy was born August 21, 1942, in Marengo, the son of Irvin and Marie (Martz) Burgy. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1959. Larry was united in marriage to Gloria Martinson in September of 1964 at  First Lutheran Church, in Conroy. The couple later divorced. Larry worked at Amana Refrigeration for 44 years and also worked around his family farm. In the early years, Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was very mechanically inclined and loved motorcycle drag racing. One of his favorite things to do was hunt for arrowheads.
