Larry Eugene Young was born September 17, 1943 near McLean, Nebraska the son of Christopher and Mary (Macklin) Young. He graduated from Randolph High School in Randolph, Nebraska in 1960 and Kirkwood Community College in 1980. He served in the United States Air Force. On July 2, 1967 he was united in marriage to Shelby Wasson in Iowa City. They lived in Illinois, Wisconsin and various cities in Iowa and most recently made their home in Keota. He worked as a professional meat cutter for 10 years and a computer program analyst for 20 years. Larry died on Friday, February 24, 2006 at Parkview Manor in Wellman following a brief illness at the age of 62 years. Larry is survived by his wife Shelby of Keota; 5 children - John Young and wife Michelle of Wisconsin Rapids, WI.; Jennifer Youg of Washington; Jerry Young of Keota; Juna Gingerich and husband Stacy of Kalona; Jamie Young of Des Moines; 6 grandchildren; a brother Gary Young and wife Delores of McLean, NE.; a sister - Viola Kruger of Norfolk, NE.; his mother-in-law Marilyn Wasson of West Chester; 2 sisters-in-law Gina Rotenburger and husband Gerald of West Chester; Vanessa Eastwood and husband Lawrence of Washington 14 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, an infant brother, father-in-law Leonard Wasson and 3 brothers-in-law Scott Hotle, Daryl Utzinger, and John Leaply.
