Larry Dean Jacob was born Thursday, June 3, 1937 in Frytown, Iowa the son of Harry and Ruby (Townsend) Jacob. He graduated from Wellman High School in 1955. He served in the United States Army from 1960-1962. On June 17, 1967 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Arbogast in Wayland. They have lived in Wellman where he drove truck for various feed businesses and retired from Wellman Produce in 2000. He enjoyed playing golf, watching golf, Nascar, professional football and was an avid Hawkeye sports fan. Larry died of cancer on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 68 years. Larry is survived by his wife Dorothy of Wellman, and a sister - Betty Kempf and husband Russell of Wellman. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother - Robert Jacob.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice, Wellman Golf Club and the American Cancer Society.
