Lanah A McLain, a resident of the English Valleys Care Center passed away on Wednesday, December 26 at age 96. Lanah, the daughter of Clark and Jennie McLain, was born December 13, 1916 in rural South English. There are no survivors. Lanah was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Ralph. She attended school in Webster, Iowa. She worked on the family farm before starting work at the English Valleys Care Center in North English when it first opened. She continued working there for 28 years. Lanah became a resident there in February 2009. At her request there will be no services. Burial will be in the South English cemetery. Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
