Kenton Yaley

Kenton L. Yaley, 38, of North Liberty, IA formerly of Mt. Pleasant died Friday, August 7, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Visitation will be at Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, August 14, 2009 from noon until 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Van Hooser officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorials have been established to Calvary Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant and Faith Baptist Church, Iowa City. The son of Marvin and Janice (Grieser) Yaley, Kenton was born June 7, 1971 in Mt. Pleasant. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School in 1989 and then attended Iowa State University for Hotel/Restaurant Management. Mr. Yaley was single. For 16 years Kenton worked in management for Mariott Hotels. He has lived in North Liberty for the last three years where he taught Hotel Management for Kirkwood Community College. Kenton liked landscaping and working in his yard and garden. He also enjoyed playing the piano and being with his nieces and nephew. He attended the Faith Baptist Church in Iowa City. Survivors include his parents of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Kim (Sone) Cam of Ankeny, IA; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Kenton was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
