KEOTA-Kenneth V. Jaeger, age 81, of Keota, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at the Washington County Hospital, following a sudden illness. Kenny was born August 4, 1924, near Harper, to Ambrose and Rose (Greiner) Jaeger and graduated from Keota High School. On October 1, 1946, he married Genevieve Peiffer in Keota. The couple lived and farmed in the Keota community for 50 years, retiring in 1989. Kenny was a member of Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota and the Knights of Columbus for many years. Survivors include his wife: Genny of Keota; eight children: Linda Lillig of Omaha, Nebraska, Karyl Miller and husband Del of West Branch, Cynthia Partridge and husband Steven of Norwalk, Colleen Robertson and husband Kim of Dunlap, Illinois, Douglas Jaeger of Keota, David Jaeger and wife Barbara of Keota and Jerome Jaeger and wife Katherine of South English; daughter-in-law: Becky Jaeger of Fairfield; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and four sisters: Loretta Jensen of Marion, Theresa Kelly of Centerville, Marianne Rayner of New London and JoAnn Colbert of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Ambrose Jaeger, son-in-law: Michael Lillig and one sister: Elizabeth Reed. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2006, at the Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota with Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be at the Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Cemetery in Keota. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a rosary/prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for American Diabetes Association or Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.
