Kenneth "Skid" Lynn Rowe

North English- Kenneth “Skid” Lynn Rowe was born January 21, 1948, near North English, Iowa, the son of Kenneth William & Marjorie Irene (Cheney) Rowe. He graduated from North English High School in 1967.  He served in the United States Navy from 1968 -1972. He worked at Amana Refrigeration, Solar Homes and was a custodian and bus driver for English Valleys School District. Skid was a former member of the North English United Methodist Church. He served on the North English Fire Department and was a member of the Boar’s Nest Club. He enjoyed making models, golfing, camping, 4-wheeler rides, fishing, going to the river and spending time with good friends and family. Skid died on Monday, May 29, 2023 at his home in North English at the age of 75 years. 

He is survived by his brothers Rex Rowe and Ralph (Katy) Rowe all of North English; a brother-in-law Jim Cranston of Montezuma; Nieces Amy (Jeff) Rotter and Andrea (Tim) Harris; a nephew Troy (Rachel) Cranston; and three great nephews Corbin Rowe, Seth (Megan) Cranston and Joel Cranston. He was preceded by his parents; a sister Marlene Cranston; and a sister-in-law Becky Rowe.

A Celebration Of Life Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Visitation will be on Friday, from 5-7 pm at the Powell Funeral Home. Memorials may be give to the North English First Responders or Iowa City Hospice.
