Keith Kudobe

June 24, 1930 — January 3, 2011

Keith M. Kudobe, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Pleasant Manor Care Center. Visitation will begin after 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011, at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel. Memorials have been established to the Pleasant Manor Care Center. Born June 24, 1930, in Mt. Pleasant, Keith Milo was the son of Charles Milo and Mildred (Townsend) Kudobe. Keith received his elementary education in rural Henry County schools and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. On November 11, 1950, he married Eileen Weiss in Franklin, IA. Keith drove school buses for the Mt. Pleasant School District for many years. He was a lifelong farmer and was engaged in the family farming operation until he retired in 1995. He and his wife continued to live on the farm until their health declined. The Kudobes then moved to the Pleasant Manor Care Center. Keith loved spending time with kids and animals. He enjoyed many camping outings and was an enthusiastic traveler. One of his greatest joys was celebrating 60 years of marriage last November with his lovely wife, Eileen. Mr. Kudobe is survived by his wife, Eileen of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one son, Darrell (Deb) Kudobe of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a daughter, Donna (Bruce) Carlson of Sioux Falls, SD; one sister, Virginia Becker of Mt. Pleasant, IA; and four grandchildren, Nathaniel (Rebecca) Lee of Sioux Falls, SD, Kyle Kudobe, Rachel Kudobe and Emily Kudobe all of Mt. Pleasant, IA. Preceding in death were his parents and a sister, Nadine Simkin.
