Iowa City- Keith Eldon Montross age 76 of Iowa City, died on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Keith E Montross was born August 7, 1939 on the farm near Deep River, Iowa. He was the son of Hubert Maxwell and Blanche Rosena (Gerard) Montross. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1957 and went on to receive his business degree from the University of Iowa. Keith was united in marriage to Linda Beth Holeton on July 18, 1970 at the Millersburg United Methodist Church. They lived on the farm near Millersburg, Lone Tree and Iowa City. He farmed for many years and later worked as a security guard for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Keith was a member of the Millersburg United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, the Chicago Cubs and arguing with anyone just because.
He is survived by his wife Linda of Iowa City; daughter Susan (Jon) Marlowe of Welton; two grandchildren: Carter Marlowe & Chloe Mathews both of Welton; five siblings: Charles L Montross of Deep River, Jeanette Bender of Paris, TX, Linda Slotwinski of Florida, Phyllis Gorsch of Millersburg and Jame Montross of Huston, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Millersburg United Methodist Church, Millersburg. Rev. Michelle Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery, rural Deep River. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 5-7 pm at the Powell Funeral Home, North English. A general memorial fund has been established.
