KEOTA- Kayren Osborn, age 72, of Keota, died Friday, August 24, 2012, at her home. Kayren was born December 29, 1939, in rural South English, Iowa, to R. Hamill and Lillian (Brower) Robison. She graduated from Kinross High School in 1957. Following three months of airline school in Omaha, Nebraska, she accepted a position with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC, where she worked until her return to the Cedar Rapids area, where she met her first husband, Harry K Schultz. Kayren worked as an accountant and buyer for Kalona Plastics from 1988 until her retirement in 2003. On August 23, 1991, she married Duain Osborn at the Presbyterian Church in Keota. A lifelong member of the English River Church of the Brethren, Kayren was an accomplished pianist, organist and vocalist who enjoyed reading and going for afternoon drives through the countryside. Survivors include her husband: Duain of Keota; son: Rob (Janice) Schultz of Madison, Wisconsin; daughter: Vicki (Eric) Boehler of Kanagawa, Japan; three step sons: Myron Osborn of Brighton, Dwight (Lisa) Osborn of Cedar Rapids and Dennis (Bernadette) Osborn of Fairfield; six grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; sister: Bonnie (Leon) Myers of Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania; nephew: Jared Long of Iowa City and niece: Dayna DiMarco (Anthony) of Canton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Harry K Schultz. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota with Rev. Loyd Osborn officiating. Burial will be at Brethren Cemetery near South English. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Wilson Memorial Library. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Kayren and her family.
