Kay Allison

Millersburg- Kay Allison was born December 19, 1938 in Millersburg, Iowa the daughter of Dean & Geraldine "Tiny" (Montross) Gerard. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1957. Kay was united in marriage to Jerry Allison on November 17, 1957. To this union they were blessed with four children. Together they lived and farmed in Keokuk County for 35 years before divorcing and Kay moving into Millersburg. Kay cooked for HACAP and Hillside Estates for many years as well as making cakes, mints and other meals for all occasions. Kay was a member of the Millersburg Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Ladies. She was a former 4-H leader for the Three Rivers 4-H Club and a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with her grandchildren. Kay died on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the English Valley Care Center at the age of 78 years.

She is survived by her daughters Susie Lundberg of Iowa City, Nancy (Dennis) Combs of Newton and Debbie Allison-Potts of North English; five grandchildren Amanda (Joe) Hahn, Alex Combs, Caitlin Combs, Zach Combs and Noah Mineart; a great grandson Hayden Hahn; two grand Kitties "Sheba" and "Sully"; four sisters Twila Gerard, Lana James, Shelly Gerard all of Millersburg and Peggy (Marland) Schott of Coggon; two brothers Wendell "Butch" (Nadine) Gerard of Millersburg and Ric (Ramona) Gerard of Amana; and three aunts Beverly Montross, Betty Husband and Dorla Dutcher. She was preceded by her parents; a son Denny Allison; a brother-in-law Walt James and her best friend Patty Garringer.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 pm on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Millersburg Methodist Church in Millersburg. Rev. Michelle Williamson and Ric Gerard will officiate. Burial will be in the Millersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 am until service time at the Millersburg Methodist Church. A general memorial fund has been established.
