Gnuan "Kathy" Baccam, 41, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2006, at the Henry County Health Center after a short illness. Visitation for Kathy will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006, from noon until 2:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant, IA. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Kelly officiating. Following the service, Kathy will be cremated. Inurnment will be in the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, IA. Memorials have been established to the Henry County Cancer Society. The Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant is in charge of arrangements. The daughter of Ca Van Eu and Eune Khounlo, Kathy was born on October 8, 1965, in Vientianne, Laos. She graduated from Tech High School in 1982. Kathy was a graduate of Grandview College with a BA in business. On October 20, 1990, she married Khamheuang T. Baccam in Des Moines, IA. Kham survives. Following marriage to Kham, Kathy moved to Mt. Pleasant. She was a production worker at Motorola for ten years and then was a teller for four months at the Wayland State Bank. Kathy was a friend of the First Presbyterian Church. She loved spending time with her three daughters, husband, and family. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, especially transplanting flowers. Along with her husband, Kathy is survived by three daughters, JoJo, Alex, and Abby, all at home; her mother, Eune Lo of Des Moines, IA; one sister, Nan Lo of Des Moines, IA; and two brothers, Hak Lo and Chung Chris Lo, both of Des Moines, IA. Kathy is also survived by a loving extended family. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Ca Van Eu.
