Kathryn I. Hobart, 88 of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mt. Pleasant. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the Long Creek Cemetery in rural Danville, IA, with Pastor Ken Barlow officiating. Memorials have been established to the donor's choice. The Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Born July 11, 1919 in Rutledge, MO, Kathryn was the daughter of Rufus and Lona V. Harker Parrish. On March 14, 1957, she married Robert L. Hobart in Hot Springs, AR. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1985. Kathryn was employed as a line production worker at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant for 28 years. She attended the Lincoln Street Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. Kathryn was a member of the New London V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Henry County Health Center Auxiliary, the Fort Nightly Club, and the Huldah Saunders Chapter of Questers. She is survived by a half-sister, Kay Hewitt of Henrietta, MO; five sisters-in-law, Florence Parrish of Nauvoo, IL, Cordonna Parrish, of Kahoka, MO, Louise Parrish, of Ft. Madison, IA, Faye Garland of Luling, LA and Betty Hobart of Racine, WI. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hobart was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Wilmer Parrish; her husband, Robert Hobart; two brothers, Carson Parrish and Wallace Parrish; a half-brother, James Parrish; a step-brother, Ralph Parrish; and two step-sisters, Ruby Wolfe and Ruth King.
