Karen Sue Gent

Williamsburg, formerly Wellman - Karen Sue Gent was born July 31, 1938 in rural Kinross, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Jessie (Edmundson) Blaylock. She graduated from Kinross High School, in 1955. On September 15, 1956 she was united in marriage to Marvin Gent at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kinross, where she was a member and taught religious education classes for many years. She later joined the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, snow mobiling & traveling. She was a very giving person. Karen died on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg, surrounded by her family, at the age of 76 years.
Karen is survived by her husband Marvin of Williamsburg; 5 children; Rhonda (Jay) Holtkamp of Marion; Linda (John) Fer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; James (Mary) Gent of Wellman; Gregory (Georgia) Gent of Wellman; Alicia (Tom) Robinson of Marion; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her mother Jessie Blaylock of North English; a sister Karyl (Bill) Miller of Washington; and 3 brothers Gary (Sandy) Blaylock of North English; Mike (Margaret) Blaylock of North English; and Pat (Michelle) Blaylock of Fairfax Station, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on May 4, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond. Rev. David Brownfield, PhD will officiate. Burial will be 2:30 PM Monday, in the Little Creek Cemetery, rural Kinross. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, May 3, 2015, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond where a Rosary & Vigil Service will be held at 2:00 PM. A memorial fund has been established for Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Highland Ridge Care Center and the American Diabetes Association
