WILLIAMSBURG- Karen Kay Hohle, was born May 23, 1950, in Sigourney, Iowa, the daughter of Levirne "Butch" and Della (Northup) Allum. She grew up in Webster and graduated from English Valley High School in 1968. She has lived in Williamsburg for the past 30 years, where she had her own cleaning business. She was a Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan, she enjoyed fishing and camping, but most of all she enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Karen died from brain cancer on Monday, February 9, 2009, at the English Valley Care Center in North English, Iowa, at the age of 58 years, 8 months and 17 days. She is survived by a son Chad Hohle of Dillon, CO; 2 daughters- April (Brad) Otto of Oxford, IA and Kimberly (Chad) Yearian of Williamsburg, IA; 5 grandchildren- Anna Dystkra of Iowa City, Chloe and Gwen Yearian both of Williamsburg, and Caleb and Dillon Otto both of Oxford; and a special friend Richard Ayers of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents Butch & Della Allum, and a brother Rickie Allum. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Chaplin Maurie Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in the Sorden Cemetery, rural Webster, IA. Visitation will be on Friday, February 13, 2009, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A general memorial fund has been established.
