Junior L Miller was born April 8, 1937 near Kalona, Iowa, the son of Lewis and Fannie (Miller) Miller. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior in his youth and was a faithful member of Fairview Mennonite Church until he moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1988 where he regularly attended Paradise Valley Mennonite Church. He married Ruby Hershberger on September 18, 1958 in Kalona, Iowa. Junior had a variety of jobs throughout his life including Farmer, Milk Truck Driver, Welder, Ferrier, School Bus Driver, Truck Driver, Baker, Charter Coach Driver and Auctioneer. He was a people person who never met a stranger and loved to put a smile on people's faces. He passed away at his home on October 9, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona after a lengthy battle with cancer. Junior is survived by his wife Ruby of Phoenix, AZ, four children; Merle (Bridget) of Hutchinson, KS; Morris (Kris) of Bradenton, FL; Gloria of Cypress, CA and Gary of Cedar Rapids; 5 granddaughters, 3 great-grandchildren, a step grandchild; 3 sisters - Cleola Yoder Austin, MN; Katie Ann (Dennis) Shetler of Kalona; Mattie (Joe) Yoder of Colon, MI; and three brothers Menno (Elizabeth) Miller of Kalona; Wilson (Lois) Miller of Kalona and Fred (Ida Ellen) Miller of Nashville, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents; Lewis and Fannie Miller, two infant grandsons, three brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and two nephews. The family wishes to thank everyone for the kindness and invaluable support throughout this difficult time. Your love and prayers lift us up and we are truly blessed. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Fairview Mennonite Church in Kalona. Pastor Don Swartzendruber and Pastor Perry Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Wednesday at Fairview Mennonite Church.
