Fairfax formerly Cedar Rapids- Judith Jo Stewart, was born on June 30, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Dorothy Klein Knipfer. She graduated from North English High School. In the spring of 1961, she was united in marriage to Harold Moffit at the First Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg. They later divorced. She enjoyed going to Tama, doing crafts, painting, beadwork, cooking, baking, hunting and fishing. Judith died on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Colonial Manor in Amana, following a long illness at the age of 68 years. She is survived by 2 sons- Roy Dale ( Annette Van Thournout) Moffit of Parnell, IA and William Dena) Moffit of Fairfax, IA; 2 grandchildren Brayden William Moffit and Mack Patrick Moffit; a step grandson Nathan Dennis Brothers; 2 brothers Donald Knipfer of Paduca, TN and Gerald Knipfer of Grand Mound, IA; and a sister Rita Walter of Homestead, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Orlin Knipfer. Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Rev. Kip Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the Millersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A general memorial fund has been established.
