Joyce Snodgrass

SIGOURNEY-Beulah Joyce Snodgrass, age 85, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Sigourney, died Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa.
Joyce was born June 4, 1932, in Delta, the daughter of Roy (Pete) and Kathryn Margaret (Utterback) Snodgrass. In the spring of 1949, Joyce graduated from high school in Rock Island, Illinois, and immediately moved to northern Minnesota. In the fall of 1949, Joyce moved to Minneapolis. In 1951, Joyce went to work for a year in the accounting department of Pillsbury as an accounting clerk and then transferred to the computer department of Pillsbury as a statistic clerk. Joyce retired from Pillsbury after 26 years. In 1997 she moved to Sigourney and in 2014 moved to Oskaloosa. Her joy in life was dancing and visiting with good friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: David Wayne Snodgrass and wife Lil and Roger Roy Snodgrass. Those closest to her in the last years were Maria Snodgrass, Charles (Mariann) Sigafoose, Tony (Kathy) Sedrel, Betty (Richard) Armstrong, Esther (Keith) Augustine, Robert (Linda) Strasser, Gary (Connie) Strasser and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney, with Rev. Vince Homan officiating. Burial will be at Garrett Cemetery near Delta. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017, at the funeral home.
