Joyce E. Stangland, age 94, of Williamsburg, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg. Graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2023 at First Lutheran Cemetery, rural Conroy with Rev. Zachary Bey officiating. Joyce is survived by her two children, Susan Laursen, of Corinth, Texas and Larry Stangland, of Williamsburg; one granddaughter, Brandy Elizabeth Weitzell, of Williamsburg; one great-grandson, Remington Corey Weitzell; three siblings, Francis Munson, Tom (Diane) Livingston and Garth (Mary) Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Otis, three brothers, Melvin, Eugene and Dean Livingston, two sisters, Iola Weekly and Leona Kelver, two step-sisters, Dorothy Hulgan and Jean Doehrmann, a step-brother Bruce Freeman, a grandson, Corey Stangland and a son-in-law Lawrence Laursen.
Joyce Elaine Livingston was born September 18, 1928, in Williamsburg, the daughter of the late Edward and Elise (Meier) Livingston. She graduated from Williamsburg High School. Joyce was united in marriage to Otis Melvin Stangland on September 18, 1949 at the Presbyterian Church, in Williamsburg. She was employed at Holdens, was a housewife and also did babysitting in her home. Joyce was a member of First Lutheran Church, in Conroy and was active in the Women’s Ladies Aid at the church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, working with plastic canvas and other crafts.
