Joseph M. Miller was born June 11, 1922 in Thomas, Oklahoma, the son of Mose F. and Fannie Miller. He was baptized in his youth and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He was united in marriage to Fannie Mast on February 19, 1959. Joe died Friday, April 17, 2009 at his home in Kalona at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 6 days. He is survived by two sister-in-laws: Mrs. Lizzie Ann Miller and Mrs. Cornelius Miller; three brother-in-laws: Wm. Mast, Sam Mast and Eli Mast, many nieces and nephews and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Fannie, all his brothers and sisters: John, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Annie, Noah, an infant brother and Cornelius. Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at the Rudy Borntrager Residence at 1213 Orange Ave in rural Kalona. Minister in charge is Paul T. Miller. Burial will be in the Peter Miller Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Borntrager Residence. The Yoder-Powell Funeral in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.
