Jorene Snyder Wood

Jorene A. Snyder Wood, 48, of Mt. Union, IA, died Tuesday, January 02, 2007, at her home. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2007, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Paul Hooks officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Jorene's memory. Born April 27, 1958 in Mt. Pleasant, IA, she was the daughter of Jerry A. and Janice M. Seager Snyder. Jorene lived most of her life in Henry County and attended Mt. Pleasant High School. Jorene married Robbie Crew. The couple later divorced. On March 6, 1987, she married Roger Wood in Mt. Pleasant. He survives. Jorene was employed as a clerk for the Iowa State Liquor Store. She later worked at Wal-Mart for five years. Jorene loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family. She thoroughly enjoyed growing flowers, spending time in her garden and sewing. Jorene also attended the Yarmouth Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Roger Wood of Mt. Union, IA; four daughters, Jennifer Crew of Burlington, IA, Robin Crew, Heather Wood and Cierra Wood, all of Mt. Union, IA; two sons, Benjamin Wood and Austyn Wood, both of Mt. Union, IA; her father Jerry Snyder, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one sister, Linda Snyder Feehan and her husband John of Mt. Pleasant, IA; and three brothers, Jerry Snyder, Jr. and his wife Becky of Glendale, AZ, Bill Snyder and Jim Snyder and his wife Chris, all of Mt. Pleasant, IA. Also surviving are five grandchildren. Jorene was preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother and by one grandson.
