Jon Lyn Arp

Williamsburg- Jon Lyn Arp was born October 22, 1937 in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of John Carl and Mildred Dorthea (Davis) Arp. He was a graduate of Williamsburg High School. Jon farmed, he owned and operated the Red Carpet Service, Standard Station near Victor and later drove semi for Hummer Trucking. On March 9, 1958 Jon was united in marriage to Lois Jean Wardenburg at St. John's Lutheran Church, near Homestead, Iowa. Jon was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. He enjoyed woodworking fishing, traveling, coloring and going to the casinos. Jon died on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 79 years.

He is survived by his wife Lois of Williamsburg; two daughters Lori (William) McDowell of Coralville and Lisa Arp of Fort Collins, CO; a son Joel (Trina) Arp of Williamsburg; two grandchildren Morgan McDowell and Adam Arp; a step grandson Trevor Haasis; a brother Newell (Arlene) Arp of Williamsburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; a brother and a sister both in infancy.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Burial will be in the Pilot Grove Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
