John Roland Baker

John Roland Baker was born July 10, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan. The son of John Nelson and Marie (Roland) Baker. He graduated from high school and attended Eastern Michigan University. John was united in marriage to Joan Deiss on June 28, 1947 in Michigan. He enjoyed golfing, tennis and spending time with family. John passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 88 years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Joan; a son: John (Liz) Baker of Coralville; two daughters: Barb (Ron) Stephen of Denton, Texas and Bev (Lynn) Furman of Ocean Ilse Beach, North Carolina; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and a sister Evelyn McGinnis. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Maria Brown.
