John Clyde Myers was born September 11, 1923, the son of John Ezra and Sarah Francis Myers of Logan County, Ohio, and passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, in Xenia, Ohio at the age of 89. John grew up in rural Lakeview, Ohio. He married Violena Pauline "Polly" Barnes on December 23, 1945 in Kentucky. John farmed in Lakeview, Ohio. He was also a certified journeyman machinist at the Clark Equipment Company in Lima, Ohio for many years. He moved with his wife, to Trenton, Iowa in 2003. The Myers had five children: Michael Myers, Springfield, Ohio; Patricia Howell (Gary), Lima, Ohio; Sherry Moser Graber (John), Mt Pleasant, Iowa; Jonathan (Julie) Myers, Charlotte, South Carolina; and, Carl (Buffie) Myers, Cedarville, Ohio. John had 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. John is survived by siblings: Glenn (Nancy) Myers, Troy, Ohio; Rev. Myron (Myra) Myers, Jamestown, New York; Freda Knight, West Jefferson, Ohio; and Betty Dotson, Toledo, Ohio, and many other family members. John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings - Everett, Dwight, and Gerald. Funeral services were held on May 4 in Xenia, Ohio with John's brother, Rev. Myron Myers, speaking and his son Carl and others sharing memories of John's life and his zeal to share the good news of Jesus. The family will be hosting a memorial service on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trenton Missionary Church with Pastor David Forrester officiating. Following the services, inurnment will be held in the Forest Home Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Trenton Missionary Church where John and his wife were members. The Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements.
