John J. Morad

John J. Morad, age 66, of Marengo, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Compass Memorial Healthcare. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held in California at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the family of John Morad in care of Kloster Funeral Home, 298 W. Washington St., Marengo, Iowa 52301.

John is survived by his loving wife, Tricia of Marengo; his mother Pat Morad of­ Grass Valley, CA.; his children, Greg Rowan of California and Shaun Morad of Utah; two grandchildren, Vincent and Dane Rowan; and a brother Randy Morad of Georgia. Also surviving John are one nephew and many nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles “Charlie” Morad and a sister Lisa Leanne Garcia.

John Joseph Morad was born November 28, 1955, on a Naval Air Station in Hutchinson, KS., the son of Charles and Patricia Byford Morad. He graduated from Kennedy High School with the class of 1973. John received his associates degree from Fullerton College in Fullerton, California. He was united in marriage to Patricia Sublett on January 20, 1979, at Sunset Beach, California. John worked for Yorba Linda Water District in Yorba Linda, California. He loved all things aviation, and there wasn’t an animal he didn’t love. John enjoyed watching television, movies, and sports especially the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Dolphins. The Smithsonian and History channels were also a favorite of John’s to watch. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.
