Jody Bair, 85, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017, at the Golden Years Assisted Living complex in Walworth, WI. Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon on Friday, September 29th at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. that evening. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 30th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Connolly, celebrant. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney, IA, at a later date. Memorials have been established to the Keswick American Legion Auxiliary or St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com. Born January 26, 1932, east of Webster, IA in Keokuk County, Joan Ruth was the daughter of Ed and Frances (Vogel) Osweiler. "Jody" graduated from Webster High School. On May 5, 1951, she married Don Bair of Keswick in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at Keswick. Don and Jody lived in the Keswick area following their marriage where they farmed for many years. During this time, Jody was a school secretary at Keswick. In 1984, they retired from farming and moved to Pella, IA, where Jody continued secretarial duties at Central College and was a tour coordinator for their tour agency, traveling throughout the United States. The Bairs enjoyed bicycling, traveling, card clubs and music sessions with their friends. Jody was an energetic kind of lady who treasured her friends and family. She was a member of the Keswick American Legion Auxiliary and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. Survivors include one son, James (Joy) Bair of Fontana, WI; one daughter, Lisa (Scott) Augsburger of Mt. Pleasant, IA; five grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Bair, Kristina (Josh) Wilson, Michael (Andi) Bair, Staci (Chad) Consbrock and Ashli Augsburger; one great-grandson, Jameson Bair; brother Leo Osweiler of Las Vegas, NV; and one sister, Rita Navarre of Seattle, WA. Along with her parents, Jody was preceded in death by her husband, Don; an infant daughter, Cindy Sue; brothers, Harold, Hubert, Raymond, and James Osweiler; and sisters, Geneva Striegel, Elizabeth Yoakam and Trudy Lester.
