Jesse O. Miller was born October 14, 1921 in Goshen, Indiana the son of Obed and Maryann (Miller) Miller. On March 19, 1942 he was united in marriage to Mary Mae Garber in Sugar Creek, Ohio. They made their home in rural Wellman and moved to Kalona in 2003. Jesse worked at Graber's Plumbing and Heating and then at Home Gas for 30 years. He was a member of the Salem Mennonite Church. Jesse died on Thursday, November 23, 2006 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona from complications of Parkinson's Disease at the age of 85 years. Jesse is survived by his wife Mary Mae Miller of Kalona; 5 children - David Ray Miller (Erma) of Loogootee, Indiana; Betty Jane Stutzman (Robert) of Keota; Nancy Marie Stutzman (David) Punta Gorda, Belize; Judy Kay Stutzman (Daniel) of Punta Gorda, Belize; Rose Mary Bontrager (Jason) of Lott, Texas; 31 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, a stillborn son, an infant daughter Kathleen in 1960, 3 grandchildren, a great grandchild, 3 brothers - Ora, Jonas, Ira, and 4 sisters - Laura Miller, Viola Gingerich, Dinah Miller and Anna Mae Beachy. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at the Salem Mennonite Church in rural Keota. Minister in charge is Wilford Beachy. Burial will be in the Peter Miller Cemetery in rural Kalona. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the church. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.
