Jesse Dean Hornback, age 35, died suddenly on Saturday June 15, 2013, at his home in Sigourney. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney. In Lieu of flowers, an educational fund has been established for his daughter Madelynn. Jesse Dean Hornback was born on July 6, 1977, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Jim F. and Cindy Lee Flactiff Hornback. He grew up in the Hedrick and Sigourney areas and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1995. Jess received his B.S. Degree from Buena Vista University and has worked in the Human Services field since graduation. He was united in marriage to Crystal Glandon on November 2, 2002, in Sigourney. Jesse was the Keokuk County Community Services Director. He was on the City Council and the Republican Central Committee. He loved politics, history, trivia, traveling (especially Hornback family vacations) and was totally devoted to his wife and daughter Maddie. Jesse is survived by his wife Crystal and daughter Madelynn Belle Hornback of Sigourney; his father Jim (Mary) Hornback of Hedrick; sister Mandi (Jess) Jones of Ottumwa; step-sister Shana (Jason) Harter of Ottumwa; step-father Terry Hollingsworth and niece Hailey Gillum of Sigourney; step-brother Chad(Jill) Hollingsworth of Grinnell; step sister Lindsay Steinhart of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Cindy Hornback Hollingsworth
