DELTA-Jerry Clayton McBride, Sr, age 67, of Delta, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney following a sudden illness. Jerry was born October 11, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Harold and Velta (Fisher) McBride and attended Sigourney High School. On December 4, 1963, he married Jo Ann Lundy in Kirksville, Missouri. A Sigourney area resident most of his life, Jerry did construction work, worked in an oil field in Wyoming and at the Salt Palace in Utah. Most recently, he worked at Victor Plastics in Victor. Jerry also rode in the national rodeo circuit and was a member of the National Rodeo Association. Survivors include three children: Cindy Crago of Sigourney, Jerry McBride, Jr. and wife Pam of Iowa City and Michelle "Mickey" McBride of Oskaloosa; seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brother: Tommy McBride of Missouri; assumed daughter: Toni McBride of Oskaloosa and ex-wife: Jo Ann of Delta. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Bernard and grandparents: Charles and Ruth McBride and Cloyd and Amy Fisher. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2006, at the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney with Vince Homan officiating. Burial will be at Conner Cemetery in rural Sigourney. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2006, at the funeral chapel. A general memorial fund has been established. Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service in Sigourney is handling the arrangements.
