Jerry Dean Harris

North English- Jerry Dean Harris was born June 17, 1932 near Millersburg, Iowa the son of Wayne & Helen (Troutman) Harris. He graduated from North English High School in 1950. On November 10, 1950 Jerry was united in marriage to Mary Lou Lockridge at the North English Christian Church. He was a life long farmer on the family farm. Jerry was a member of the North English Christian Church, where he served on the board and was a deacon. He was a member of the Cattlemen's Association, the North English Fire Department Board, Patron's Mutual Insurance Board and a former 4-H leader. He enjoyed working hard, preparing for "the hunters" each year and spending time with his family. Jerry died on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 86 years.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lou of North English; three children Kathy Misel of Las Vegas, Nevada, Terry (MaryKay) Harris of Lisbon & Tony (Pat) Harris of North English;
9 grandchildren Nickie (Dennis) Vitali, Brad (Laura) Vetter, Toni (Chad) Wiesenhofer, Scott (Katie) Vetter, Adam (Luci) Harris, Holli (Ryan) Jordan, Quincy (Katie) Harris Gabe (Jourdan) Harris and April (Justus) Harris; 12 great grandchildren; a brother Larry (Joan) Harris of North English; and two sisters Carma Septer of Tiffin and Mary Ann Fuller of Keswick.
He was preceded by his parents; a daughter Kristi Harris and a son-in-law Robert Misel.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Pastor Luke Caster will officiate. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Memorials may be given to the North English Christian Church, North English Community Center, North English Fire Department or the North English QRS.
