Jennifer Lynn Young

WASHINGTON - Jennifer Lynn Young was born April 29, 1970 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Larry and Shelby (Wasson) Young. She graduated from Auburn High School in Rockford, IL. Jennifer lived in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Rockford, Illinois, Des Moines, Wellman, and Washington. She worked as a clerk at Freeman Foods. Jennifer passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 49 years.

Jennifer is survived by 2 daughters: Asia (Ryan) Brookhart of Washington; Nakia Young of West Chester; 3 grandchildren: Benton and Ozias Gesling and Weston Ferdig; three brothers: John Young of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Jerry (Jennifer) Young of Ainsworth; Jamie Young of Oxford, WI; a sister Juna (Stacy) Gingerich of Wellman; and a sister-in-law Michelle Young of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents Leonard and Marilyn Wasson and paternal grandparents Christopher and Mary Young; a brother Christopher Young, and three uncles Scott Hotle, Gerald Rotenburger and Gary Young.

Celebration Of Life Service will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Ainsworth Community Church in Ainsworth. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 on Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Ainsworth Community Church. The Powell Funeral Home in Wellman is caring for Jennifer and her family.
