KEOTA-Jeffrey Mound, age 53, of Keota, died Sunday, January 12, 2014, at his home. Jeff was born June 3, 1960, in Sigourney, Iowa, to Jim and Patricia (Ingle) Mound and graduated from Keota High School in 1979. He served 6 years in the Air Force before settling down to start a family in Las Vegas, NV. Jeff spent several years in the Minneapolis area prior to his recent move back to Keota. He was an avid Hawkeye fan, watched NCIS and enjoyed eating lobster. Survivors include a son: Jeffrey Mound of Apple Valley, Minnesota; brother: Randy Mound and wife Fanny of Woodbury, Minnesota, sister: Robin Lynch and husband Dan of Kalona, uncle: Roger Mound and wife Nan of Plover, Wisconsin; fiancé Michelle L. Blankenenship of Keota and several special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Rev. Sheldon Henderson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
