Jeanne Spray

Jeanne Elyse Spray, 64, after a brief illness, passed away under the care of Hospice on April 11, 2014 in Glendale, CA. No services are planned. Jeanne's ashes will be scattered in the Pacific. For those wishing to provide a remembrance, donations in her memory to save the oceans or to an animal rescue organization would have pleased her. Born April 30, 1949 in Fairfield, IA, Jeanne Elyse was the daughter of Raymond Richard and Vivian Louise (Thorton) Spray. Jeanne spent her school years at Cedar #7 in rural Stockport, later at Hillsboro Elementary and graduated from Harmony High School, Class of 1967. She soon moved to southern California where she began a career as a Technical Writer for engineering designs at TRW and other aerospace firms. Jeanne was a kindred spirit of the sea and spent as much time as possible living at or near the beaches. She was an animal lover who never met a dog, cat or bunny that did not become a fast friend and often a longtime companion. She was highly intelligent, charming, new age thinker and continued to march to the beat of her own drum throughout her life. Survivors include her brother, Dan (Shirley) Spray of Mt. Pleasant, IA; her sister, Christine Spray of Los Angeles, CA; and nieces, nephews, an uncle, aunts and numerous cousins. Preceding Jeanne in death are her parents; grandparents; her former husband, David McCrary; and recently by her sister, Charlotte Wells Dung.
