Williamsburg- Jean Josephine Collingwood was born December 25, 1922 in Plains, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Kozior. She attended school in Pennsylvania. Jean was united in marriage to Russell E. Collingwood on April 3, 1945 in New Jersey. After their marriage they moved west of Williamsburg where they farmed. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was active in the UMW. Jean enjoyed volunteering, belonging to the Merry Monkeys Makers and the Ugly Quilt Group, gardening, doing crafts, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Jean died surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 90 years. She is survived by a son: Russell (Anne) Collingwood of Williamsburg; a daughter: JoAnn (Charles) Nester of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren: James Collingwood, Kelly Collingwood, Katie Nester, Carl Nester and Jana Nester; a brother: Stanley Kozior of New Jersey and special friends of the family: David, Bonnie, Faith Adele, and Caroline Kinkead of Williamsburg. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mary Ann, a brother Andy and a sister Mary Ann. Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 pm Sunday, December 1, 2013, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Pastor James Parks will officiate. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials are for the St. Paul United Methodist Church.
