IOWA CITY-Jaynane "Jayne" Lillig, age 69, of Iowa City, died of pancreatic cancer Monday, October 8, 2012, at her home. Jayne was born April 22, 1943, in Washington, Iowa, to James, Sr. and Lillian (Osweiler) Coffman. She graduated from Keota High School in 1961 and attended Ottumwa Heights College. On July 6, 1963, Jayne married Michael "Mick" Lillig at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. The couple lived in Keota until moving to Iowa City in 1994. Jayne worked as an associate for Keota Schools for several years. She then worked in the Communications Studies department at the University of Iowa following their move to Iowa City. Jayne, along with her late husband, Mick, were co-owners of River Products Company and subsidiaries of Iowa City. Jayne was associated with the quarrying industry for over 50 years. In 2002, Mick, Jayne and long-time business partner Tom Scott founded and funded the community based RPC, Inc. Charitable Foundation. Jayne has served the past 11 years as chief presenter of the Chris Lillig Memorial Cup to the all-around trophy winner of the foundation sponsored Old Capitol Criterium bicycle races held each spring in downtown Iowa City. Jayne was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Iowa City. She and her '63 Corvette were members of the Classy Chassy Cruisers Car Club. Jayne enjoyed traveling the world and doing many activities with her many friends. Survivors include her brother: James B. Coffman, Jr. and wife Claudette of Iowa City and daughter-in-law: Teresa Lillig Lineer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Mick in 2004 and son: Christopher in 1996. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota with Rev. Charles Fladung and Rev. Rudolph Juarez officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a wake service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Jayne Lillig memorial or donor's choice.
