Jared Daniel Burkhart was born March 28, 1991 the son of Marshall and Karen (Krampeter) Burkhart. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 2010. Jared died on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 22 years. Jared is survived by his parents Marshall and Karen Burkhart of Wellman; a brother Jesse Burkhart of North Liberty; a niece Michelle Rose Burkhart; a nephew Aidan Lee Davis-Burkhart; his grandmother - Donna Starky; 3 aunts - Kathy Bugenhagan, Kelly Smerud, Marcia Esquivell; 4 uncles - Kendal Bradley, Kirk Krampeter, Bill Burkhart, Mike Burkhart; and 9 cousins - Keagan, Parker, Lance, Kayla, Conner, Colin, Daniel, Katherine, and Timothy. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Fairview Mennonite Church in rural Kalona. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held form noon until service time on Thursday at the church. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.
